Nikon has unveiled the D3X, its latest flagship-level FX-format digital SLR. The D3X provides commercial-quality image performance with its 24.5-megapixel CMOS censor.

LumiQuest has released the Quik Bounce, designed for use with or without a ceiling to soften light. The Quik Bounce attaches to the flash using self-adhesive Velcro or with the optional cinch strap.

The Quik Bounce is designed with doors that can open to allow for 20 percent of the light to bounce off the surface area to provide fill light and uniform illumination. Rololight has released the Softbox System, its newest continuous fluorescent lighting system. The Softbox was designed to be a modular lighting system with detachable individual light strips.

Last September, it seemed uncertain whether it would be worthwhile to do our biennial issue on travel photography. The cost of gas had rapidly escalated to more than $4 a gallon.
